I am a creative person at heart. I have always enjoyed drawing and painting as well as creating things from hand. I love the heart and soul that goes into those things and I have to say, they are my most treasured possessions aside from my children and husband. I have also found a new love of cooking. I love trying new recipes, although not all of them turn out quite the way I hope. But it's still fun trying new things and hopefully finding new family favorites. I prefer recipes that are easy to put together, but tastes like you’ve spent hours on them. I also prefer recipes that use ingredients I already have on hand. I'm not big on having to purchase special items that I'll only use once or twice. I also factor cost when deciding whether or not to try a certain recipe.
Which brings me to another topic…Saving money. I've always considered myself to be a frugal person, trying to save money in anyway I can. Whether it be finding ways to cut down my monthly bills, using coupons and sales to get the most out of my shopping trips, or just plain being smart about how we spend our money. I'm not an extreme couponer by any means, but even if it's only a few dollars saved every little bit helps. I'm still learning and hope to share what I’ve learned with you. My biggest thing with finding ways to save is time versus amount saved. I try to keep things as simple as possible. I don't clip every coupon out of an insert because I'll more than likely only use half of them. So I just clip as I go, thus saving me time to do other things. I don't want to turn this blog into a couponing one, because there are plenty of other ones out there. But I will share the things I've learned that work for me, in case it works for you too.
I live in Utah… it seems blogging is very popular here.. maybe it's something in the air. I grew up in Brigham City until my dad decided to move us up to Montana my sophomore year of high school. Montana is a beautiful state but I've always felt I belong here in Utah. So a year after I graduated from high school I moved back to Utah. That is until I met the man who would become my husband. We met online and had an instant connection, and before I knew it, my bags were packed and I was on my way to St. Louis, Missouri. We lived there for a year then moved to Kansas, shortly after he started working for a different trucking company. After living there for a year I finally convinced him to move to Utah. And we have been here ever since. I love the beauty of this state, and the people here are wonderful,.... although some can be a little on the crazy side. I plan on sharing some of my favorite places here with you, and some of the activities I love to do like camping and four wheeling.
I am the wife of an over the road truck driver, and a mom to two wonderful (honestly .... more like a pains in the ass) children. I have mainly been a stay at home mom. I have tried working from home in the customer service industry, and can honestly say I don’t miss doing that. Don’t get me wrong… I enjoyed the paycheck, however small, the freedom to set my own schedule, I just hated the stress involved. Nothing like getting yelled at for things that weren’t my fault…lol. I have to say, I have a new respect for people that work in that industry. I have always enjoyed writing, although most of my previous writing experience has been in telling stories. So this will be a little different for me, but I hope to step up to the challenge.
I have so many plans for this blog and a wide variety of topics I would like to share. I could go on and on about the directions I want to go but just suffice it to say it's going to be one huge adventure. I hope you'll join me for the ride, and learn more about me as we go.

Incase you were wondering about the skulls in my blog name and design, you have to understand I kinda have an obsession with skulls and skeletons. Lol. Not in a morbid way. I find them to be beautiful in a way. They represent a kind of beauty and decay. Life and death...A reminder of our own mortality. I have two skull tattoos, one on my upper arm with roses and beads, and one on my lower leg with stars and hearts. The logo for this blog I created with elements from both of my tattoos. The skull and crossbones from my leg tat, and the roses from my arm.
